The factory VVTI solenoid will be located underneath the upper plastic cam gear/ timing belt cover.
Please remove the upper cover and locate the VVTI solenoid.
Located & Unplug the VVTI solenoid and remove the 10mm bolt that's mounted on the solenoid bracket.
Gently remove the factory unit away from the engine.
(note: when removing, a small amount of motor oil may leak out of area, Clean said area prior to installing the “Good Power” solenoid.
Once the performance solenoid has been installed, Re-install the 10mm mounting bolt back onto the solenoid bracket. Do not over torque the 10mm bolt when re- installing.
Once the unit has been bolted down, re-connect the solenoid plug harness to the unit.
** Ensure that the plug if firmly attached, damage or loose plug may affect driveability of vehicle. Repair or replace damage plug as needed**
Prior to starting vehicle make sure that your vehicle does not have any check engine lights, Check engine lights may affect the unit.
Once all components have been re-installed, you can now start the vehicle. Once the vehicle has been started please allow vehicle to warm up to operating temperature before driving.
** Inspect solenoid area for any oil leakage**
Please allow up to ~50-100 (+/-) miles of normal driving condition so that the factory computer system can adjust/ “re-learn” fully to the performance solenoid that has been installed.
